当初の予定より少々遅れましたが、ウィキメディア財団理事会が財団の2006/2007年度決算を承認したことをご報告いたします。

また、さらに時間がかかったのは何故でしょうか。当初の予定どおりに監査が完了せず、さらなる日数を要することはじゅうぶんに起りうることです。財団のプロジェクト（およびその参加者）は昨年一年を通じて顕著に成長し、支出（取引の件数）の増加につながりました。すなわち、こなすべき監査作業の量も増えたのです。また、財団職員（たとえば会計係）の交代も数回あって、十全に引き継ぎがなされなかったことがあったため[2]、監査の準備に支障を来たすこととなりました。そのため、監査にかなりの時間を要したことは驚くことではありません。肝心なのは監査が完了したということです。


そこで、理事会として、多くの時間を割いて、この一連の作業に従事するだけでなく、事務所の移転と帳簿の分析にも同時にあたった財団職員の、オリータ・マッケンリーとモナ・ヴェンカテスヴァラン[3]両名の働きを顕彰したいと思います。オリータへ、帳簿に費やした果てしない時間に対して特別の感謝状を授与したいと思います。モナは、とりわけ財務上の進行と管理の強化にとり組んでくれました（本人は叩き台を作っただけというかと思いますが……）。監査委員会には精力的な取り組みに対して私自身からの感謝を申し上げたいと思います。このレビュー全体は全くもって小さな仕事ではなく、この時期を乗り越えるのにかかわったすべての方々に理事会から感謝を申し上げたいと思います。
