Office IT Support Specialist

==Job Description==
The Office IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing front-line hardware, software and infrastructure help desk support to office staff. The ideal candidate has experience providing IT help desk support in a rapid paced environment along with the ability to teach users to be more self-sufficient.

This position is based in our San Francisco office. It is a full-time position and with a salary and benefits, all applicants must be eligible for work in the continental United States. All applicants must be able to commute to work in San Francisco.

==Responsibilities==
* Working patiently with end users
* Use of ticket tracking application to record work along with answering user requests
* Handle daily "tier 1" help desk requests
* Troubleshooting software issues on end user machines
* Troubleshooting basic network connectivity issues for local and remote users
* Troubleshooting basic hardware issues for users
* Troubleshooting printer, fax and copier issues
* Support of common user software such as Open Office
* Configuration and deployment of machines for new hires
* Tracking & distribution of inventory and accessories (mice, keyboards, etc.)
* Basic smart phones setup & troubleshooting
* Developing a technology "continuing education" plan & teaching classes, as time allows
* Other tasks as assigned

* At least one year experience in IT help desk or end user training
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to clearly communicate with non-technical users
* High School education required

===Desired===
* Experience with Ubuntu (or other flavors of Linux)
* Associate Degree or technical certifications a plus
