Transparency of the Wikimedia Foundation

As a non-profit organization with a core value of transparency, the Wikimedia Foundation is committed to communicating with our volunteers, donors, and stakeholders in a open, accountable, and timely manner.

Mission Statement of the Wikimedia Foundation

The mission of the Wikimedia Foundation is to empower and engage people around the world to collect and develop educational content under a or in the public domain, and to disseminate it effectively and globally.

In collaboration with a network of chapters, the Foundation provides the essential infrastructure and an organizational framework for the support and development of multilingual wiki projects and other endeavors which serve this mission. The Foundation will make and keep useful information from its projects available on the Internet , in perpetuity.

2007/2008 Annual Report

Beginning in the fiscal year 2007-2008 (July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008), the Wikimedia Foundation publishes an Annual Report about its goals, accomplishments, and objectives. You can download copies of the reports below.

We also publish detailed financial reports, such as audited financial statements and our annual plan for each fiscal year.

Some local chapters publish their own reports; please view the respective chapter webpages for more information.
