Annie in discussion.

Annie L. Lin is currently the Global Education Program Manager at the Wikimedia Foundation.

She joined the Wikimedia Foundation in June 2010 as part of the Public Policy Initiative pilot, in which she recruited and worked with professors interested in assigning students to edit Wikipedia as coursework, and developed various resources to support these professors and students (most notably the volunteer-based Wikipedia Ambassador program). Now, as the Global Education Program Manager, she strategizes and facilitates the global expansion and continuous improvement of Wikipedia's use as a teaching tool around the world, and further builds the organizational capacity of the Wikipedia Ambassador program.

Annie spent the first decade of her life in southern Taiwan before moving to Los Angeles and then the San Francisco area, although her work has also taken her to many other parts of the country and the world. Prior to joining Wikimedia, Annie had many years of experience with teaching, group facilitation, project/program design, and community-building; she also has a background in various forms of multimedia, including web design, graphic design, and video production. Annie holds a degree in Sociology plus a minor in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a social scientist at heart, with particular interest in workplace interactions, labor relations, organizational cultures, and urban planning.
