I am quite confident that there are at least 1 million people around the globe who have enough time to make at least one edit to Wikipedia everyday. My job is to enable them do it!

About me

I joined the Global Development team as a consultant in 2012. I hold a Ph.D. in precision engineering, and used to work as a researcher in computer graphics and computer vision. I can speak English, Arabic and Japanese (and a few others at a basic level), love reading (philosophy, and history in particular), traveling (anywhere), reading while traveling, doing sports (cycling and martial arts in particular), and listening to music (Classic, Jazz).

My work

Editor Growth and Contribution Program is a new program being launched at WMF to focus on the on-wiki needs of these projects. We will be partnering with the community to design, test, and implement online programs to attract and retain more editors in these language communities. The program aims to increase the number of active editors on Wikimedia projects by working with the community to understand the online needs of each project, and taking a data-driven approach to implement solutions based on these needs. The pilots and programs on-wiki that the Editor Growth and Contribution Program will use in order to encourage new editors are intended to serve as a complement to off-wiki outreach activities already underway in other teams.
