About me

I am a PhD candidate in Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington where I perform research in the fields of HCI, CSCW, UCD and other fun acronyms. In addition to my Wikipedia research, I have also worked on other open-source volunteer collaboration tools, like this one.

I have an MS in HCI, and a BA in philosophy and classics, with a focus on political philosophy. I am a voracious and omnivorous reader, and a passionately amateurish musician. In my (ever-diminishing) spare time, I also enjoy trail running, kayaking and a good game of racquetball.

My work

I work on the Teahouse, a new user help and socialization space on the English Wikipedia. I also support other Community Fellow projects. Info on how Teahouse came about, and why it is the way it is, available here. I run HostBot, a bot that performs certain repetitive tasks on the Teahouse and its sub-pages.
