Matt Halprin was a member of the Wikimedia Foundation's Board of Trustees from August 2009 until December 2012, fulfilling one of the four Board-appointed, "expertise seats".

Matt brings more than 20 years of business experience to Wikimedia as well as non-profit governance experience. Matt is currently Executive Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development at Ning. Ning is the world's leading platform for custom social websites. Previously, Matt was a Partner at Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm founded by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar and his wife, Pam. Matt led ON's investments and grants in technology platform companies. Prior to Omidyar Network, Matt was Vice President, Global Trust and Safety at eBay where his team was responsible for minimizing fraud and other trust-reducing behavior. Prior to eBay, Matt served as a Partner and Vice President at the Boston Consulting Group, where he worked with technology clients on issues of corporate strategy and corporate development.

Matt is on the board of Management Leadership of Tomorrow (http://www.ml4t.org/), a nonprofit organization that supports the next generation of minority leaders in the United States. He graduated with High Distinction as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School and holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. Matt is married and has four children.
