P.S. You should create a user page with some info about who you are and what you're doing here. :-)

Deletion requests

Hi. Are you trying to have some pages deleted? If so, that's fine and I can take care of them in a few minutes. I don't really understand creating pages such as User:Cbarr/Template:2011FR/CurrencyAmmounts that contain only a {{delete}} tag, though. Can you explain? Thanks! --MZMcBride 01:39, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

They were just place holders. I had a list of 30 or so to delete.

The code currently inside Template:2011FR/Donate-now-country-specific/test is quite bad. Are there plans to clean it up? I would do it myself, but I'm concerned about interrupting ongoing tests. --MZMcBride 01:57, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what part you are looking at. The file is changing constantly. If you have a suggestion or something you see is really bad it would be better if you put it on the discussion page so that we can understand why the change is needed. Somethings are place holders for future functionality, somethings are in process of changing. Any help is appreciated.

«We don't want anyone to be able to edit it.» I don't understand why this page should be different from all other official policies or resolutions on this wiki, but does that "anyone" include people willing to fix those nasty newlines which broke the diff completely? Thanks, Nemo 17:29, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Can you please unprotect it so I can add in the updates? This is a restricted wiki so not everyone can edit anyway :) thanks much, -- Phoebe 18:51, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
@Nemo: What is broken exactly?
This page was protected because it is a professionally created translation. All changes must be approved. Please leave any suggestions for changes on the talk page.

I know. I'm on the board that approves the updates :) But you already made the changes from the September update, so it's all good. Thanks! :) What Nemo is referring to is because the new text was pasted in, in a block, it's hard to see what actually changed from one version of the policy to the next, because all the line breaks show up in the diff as well. That's why I didn't notice you had already made the changes I was trying to make. best, -- Phoebe 19:55, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Adding to what Phoebe said, I assure you that people who get access here know what they can change and what they can't (and where to propose further changes). I wouldn't change a single comma on a board-approved text. ;-) Anyway, thank you, it's fixed now. Nemo 16:01, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Let's be really careful about this. There's no need to protect this, unless I'm misunderstanding something crucial, particularly with a small number of folks who have access to this wiki. If something breaks, it's pretty easy to revert it. Protecting the page keeps people from being able to fix things like they did.  :) Philippe (WMF) 18:46, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
