Hi. I updated your user page to use user info. Some of the conversion was a bit awkward, so you may want to poke at it a bit at some point. --MZMcBride (talk) 15:25, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I'm working on cleaning up this wiki a bit. I've proposed the following pages for deletion. I'm notifying you as you're listed in the page history. Without objection, the pages listed below will be deleted in about a month. Thanks for all of your work here. --MZMcBride (talk) 22:19, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Hiya

Resolutions, such as http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Resolution:Chief_Research_Coordinator, should be listed at resolutions, so we can find them back later on. Incidently, if you have time, there are several resolutions to report :-) (kinda the job of the secretary). Usually, we publish them, unless it contains information which is confidential. What we usually do is either remove the part being confidential (and mention that part of the resolution has been made non visible to public view), or we put the title of the resolution, but replace the page by a redirection to the board wiki resolution (which people can not read). This way, people still know a resolution has been passed on the subject, but is not public.

If you copy here resolutions without listing them on the resolutions page, people can not find the resolution, and it is likely the page will end up existing twice (if I do not see the page listed, I will copy it a second time).

I would really appreciate it if you could update the resolution page from time to time.

Thanks :-)

RSS feed and Template:Blogbox

I've had the same thought as you regarding Template:Blogbox, however the blog posts are often made by a different individual than the content author. For example, "Dutch National Archive joins Wikipedia" was written by Lodewijk Gelauff, but was posted by Moka.

I don't think there's any (easy) programmatic to resolve this currently. Though, you could just remove the authors from Template:Blogbox.... --MZMcBride 02:16, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've asked Danese for some engineering time to review a suitable RSS extension. I think "Posted by" would be fine and technically accurate. WordPress doesn't seem to support setting arbitrary authors -- if it bothers us, we might just get into the habit of making user accounts for guest authors and assigning those.--Eloquence 02:23, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I made http://toolserver.org/~mzmcbride/cgi-bin/feeder.py to make the update process a bit less tedious in the meantime. It should load the feed dynamically. I also added a small dictionary for mapping single names to full names (e.g., "Zack" → "Zack Exley"). --MZMcBride 07:47, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, the beauty of simple hacks. Awesome, thank you. :-) --Eloquence 20:44, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
