Getting updated translations

Do you think it would be possible to get Translatewiki.net to update pages such as this? I'm not sure how narrow its scope is... might be worth a shot. There's also a translation system defined at Meta-Wiki that was previously used to update these pages every once in a while. I think Alex and Casey have both been busy, though, so it's been left unloved. Maybe it makes sense to add more people to this site so that it isn't left to rot. Good question. I had linked to the pages on Meta as suggested by Casey here, and pinged him to hear his thoughts first. He has coordinated successful translation efforts on Meta as recently as last month ([1]). Btw, Geraki has already updated the Greek version, just 70 minutes after the "update needed" notification [2]. Regards, Tbayer 08:16, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Blog on the main page

The production cluster cannot access external hosts without a special configuration that I'm guessing isn't enabled. Since blog.wikimedia.org is now on an external host (wordpress), we probably need to set that up. Legoktm (talk) 14:43, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

Social media file usage permission

Hi, Tilman. As a one of a WLE team members I saw your response to NickK's email in which you said that a special permission is needed for files to be used in social media posts besides just a CC license. I have never heard of a thing like that so it interested me. What exactly not covered by a CC license (in the case mostly or only CC-BY-SA 3.0 but good to hear about any CC license) the permission should be for? And what's about all that social media pages of Wikipedia, Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves Earth and many more Wikimedia projects, chapters, submovemens, ideas and so on. Even if some of them really do obtain such a permission I doubt it's more that just several — so do we have such a massive violation of some rule? Then it's a serious issue to be dealt with.
