Job openings/Product Manager - Multimedia Usability
This job opening has been closed. See this page for current job openings.
YOU ARE ...
.. ideally familiar with Wikimedia Commons, have a background in user experience and research, are excited about the prospect of working for a non-profit organization, can manage the development of a software product, and are able to crank out a user interface design or coordinate a user study on your own.
We're well aware that these skills may be hard to find in a single person. :-) This project has a total budget of $300,000 (including travel and research costs), and we'd love to put two full-time people on the job, a product manager and a software engineer. If the skills match well, this should allow us to make rapid iterative improvements to the multimedia uploading workflow for Wikimedia Commons.
If you feel you have a good set of some of these skills, we may still be able to figure out a way to make it work. Just send us your thoughts on how you think we could complement any skills gaps. We're also open to the option of making this a part-time position, and allocating additional funds for commissioning contractors.
