Give monthly
If you use Wikipedia regularly and want to keep it growing, a monthly gift is the most effective way to ensure that Wikipedia continues to grow and serve millions around the world.
What does the Wikimedia Foundation do?
Why become a monthly donor?
The internet would not be the same without Wikipedia, and Wikipedia itself would not exist without the collective power of editors, readers, and donors who contribute every month. Wikipedia doesn’t charge a subscription fee because we believe access to knowledge should not be limited by what you can afford. We’re grateful that we can count on some donors who give regularly to support our mission and sustain Wikipedia for everyone.
A monthly donation is easy to set up and easy to cancel, and plays a vital role in helping us plan financially for the future. Regular contributions significantly increase our impact over the long-term.

A few words from our monthly supporters
“I have set up a monthly subscription. I can’t express adequately how you have changed the world and made it a more informed place and provided professionals like me somewhere that we can easily, quickly, and safely inform our staff and leaders of often challenging and/or complex concepts.”

“I very much appreciate Wikipedia, especially in a time when misinformation runs rampant. However you are managing it, your system works and the quality of the entries has not been compromised with time and use. It just keeps getting better. Wikipedia is a model of what can be accomplished.”

“This is the second time that I’ve signed on to make a small monthly donation to Wikipedia because I find it to be an invaluable resource that I use daily. As long as I’m able, I will continue to donate what I can, for as long as I can, because Wikipedia gives real value and entertainment to inquisitive minds. Thank you for all you do.”

“Your encyclopedia has had an immeasurable impact on millions worldwide and, even now at the age of 30, I can still recall relying on it during my early teenage years in high-school and later on throughout medical school. In a day and age where reliable knowledge is key to saving lives and allowing us to see past our own differences, your encyclopedia is an invaluable resource.”
