Toby Negrin is the Chief Product Officer for the Wikimedia Foundation where he brings nearly 20 years of experience of integrating data, research and design to produce popular products that users love.

Originally from Los Angeles, California, USA, Toby joined the Foundation in 2013 as the Director of Analytics. He rose to Senior Director, Head of Reading, and Interim Vice President of Product before his current appointment in November 2017. Prior to Wikimedia, he was the Senior Director of Analytics at DeNA — a Japanese publisher of video games — and at Yahoo! where he worked as a Product Manager, Anti-Abuse and Content Moderation, and Director, Product Management, Hadoop and Cloud Services. He also has worked in technical roles in Stockholm, Sweden, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Toby graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with degrees in History and Visual Culture and from NIMBAS, Bradford – Graduate School of Management with an MBA.

As a volunteer, Toby served as Board of Director Treasurer for the Golden Gate Philharmonic Orchestra — a San Francisco-based string youth orchestra dedicated to music education for all students, with particular outreach to those students with no or limited access to music education through their schools. He also ran the local maptime chapter dedicated to helping introduce people to the world of Cartography.
