Background Information and Statement of Purpose

You will volunteer with a team of people like yourself, who care about supporting one of the more remarkable free-knowledge projects in the world. You will help the Development team, support the diverse international community that builds Wikipedia, make the world a better place, and have fun while doing it!

In November and December we are doing our annual Fundraiser. We need help getting thank-you letters to our donors in the mail. The thank-you letters will need to be put inside an envelope and sealed. They will then need to be stamped, labeled and taken to the mailbox. We will also need additional support to update donor contact information in our database, and organize and archive office files.

Scope of volunteer tasks

Stuff, seal, stamp, and label envelopes - for example, put one invitation and one remit envelope into a larger envelope, then seal and stamp it. Update donor contact information in CiviCRM Folder sorting and archiving

Desired Qualifications

  • Availability to volunteer at our San Francisco office
  • Experience stuffing envelopes
  • Data entry experience
  • Folder organization

These volunteer tasks are unpaid and located in our San Francisco offices.

Hours depend on your availability, but are flexible within Wikimedia’s general workday. If you’re interested in volunteering, please provide a letter stating your interest and availability, add a resume, and email this to volunteering@wikimedia.org.
