About me

My name is Gaëtan. You might not be able to pronounce it and it's fine. I joined the Wikimedia Foundation as a legal fellow in September 2015. I am a graduate from the Universite Pantheon-Assas in Paris, France and from Boston University School of Law. I have a strong interest for social justice, alternative music, and for the relationship between the Law and the Arts in general.

I speak French, English and German.

My work

I assist the legal team in various projects that involve a great deal of legal issues usually in intellectual property law such as in trademark or copyright law but also in contracts and privacy law.

Disclaimer: I work for or provide services to the Wikimedia Foundation, and this is the account I try to use for edits or statements I make in that role. However, the Foundation does not vet all my activity, so edits, statements, or other contributions made by this account may not reflect the views of the Foundation. The legal team can only represent the Wikimedia Foundation on legal matters, so we are unable to give legal advice to others, including community members, editors, or contributors. Communications with members of the legal team are not consultations and do not create any confidential relationship.
