About me
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, land of amazing coffee and wonderful people (feel free to ask about my country any time!). I am a Law School graduate of Universidad de los Andes. I've worked for Baker & McKenzie Bogotá's office in IP matters, was a year-round legal fellow for WMF (Sep. 2013 - Sep. 2014), and a summer legal intern for Creative Commons in 2011. I am passionate about access to free knowledge and information and Internet policy.
My work
As part of the Global Reach team, I head strategic partnerships in Latin America and the Caribbean for the Foundation. With the mission of seeing the world as a place where every single human being gets to participate in the sum of all knowledge, I work with mobile operators, industry stakeholders, governments, and non-profits to increase reach, access, and awareness of Wikipedia in the region. One of the projects I lead is Wikipedia Zero - a program with mobile operators across the globe to offer free access to read and edit Wikipedia on mobile. Me and my team also focus on innovative ideas to bring Wikimedia content to those who are not yet online, including SMS/USSD solutions, offline technology, and preloads. I also work on relevant policy matters for Wikimedia's partnerships, specializing in net neutrality, zero-rating, and access to knowledge.
