About me

I joined the Wikimedia Foundation as a contractor in February 2012. In July I became a staff member as Development and Outreach Manager. I am originally from Petaluma, California, and graduated from California State University, Chico with a bachelor's degree in Communications, with an emphasis on film and a minor in Political Science. After graduation I worked for a Venture Philanthropy firm in Redwood City as the Finance Director. In 2007 I moved to the District of Columbia to work for then newly elected Mayor of DC, Adrian Fenty. I served as his Director of Operations, and then his Deputy Chief of Staff. I took a six-month sabbatical from the Mayor's Office to start the DC Public Education Fund, a non-profit. I raised the extra funding needed for Michelle Rhee's reform plan for the District's Public Schools. After raising the initial funding and hiring an Executive Director I returned to the Mayor's office. I recently moved back home to California to take my current position at Wikimedia and be aunt to my two beautiful nieces. I am a huge fan of running, biking, swimming, the Oakland A's, and Camden, ME.

My work

I work in the Community Department to raise support from foundations and major donors.
