What's up? --MZMcBride 01:22, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in the middle of trying to fix some other issues, will add your tweaks back when I'm done. Pcoombe 01:23, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Thanks. :-) --MZMcBride 01:23, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for implementing the redesigned version of Thank You/en. :-) I think it looks so much better, and I know that the fundraising team is crazy busy right now, so I really appreciate that this was able to get implemented so quickly. --MZMcBride 06:04, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, thank you! It really does look much better. I'll have a go at making a rotator for the stories when I get some time. Pcoombe 18:18, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The above-linked template doesn't currently work for country-language (or is it language-country?) codes, that I can see. Look at Problems donating/es-es, for example. This can probably be fixed, just wanted to let you know that not all of the translations are being shown to readers for pages that use that schema, in the meantime. Proposed deletions

Hi. I'm working on cleaning up this wiki a bit. I've proposed the following pages for deletion. I'm notifying you as you're listed in the page history. Without objection, the pages listed below will be deleted in about a month. Thanks for all of your work here. --MZMcBride (talk) 21:44, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of volunteer translations

Hi, it seems like a waste of effort to delete volunteer translations. Can a disclaimer be put on them saying they aren't legally binding? Or at the very least transferred onto meta for people who only speak a language that wasn't professionally translated? Legoktm (talk) 05:09, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, sorry I didn't see this earlier. It is a shame, but the consensus here was that deletion was safer than a disclaimer (which we would also have had to get translated). I'm hoping we can soon get some more professional translations done into other languages. Pcoombe (WMF) (talk) 14:02, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then, can we get them exported to meta then? Thanks, Legoktm (talk) 03:57, 10 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's not really an option sorry. The point is that we don't want donors to see tax information that could potentially be incorrect, disclaimer or not. This is based on advice from our legal department. Pcoombe (WMF) (talk) 16:48, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Peter, I'm working on seeing if we can improve Ways to Give for the non-English speakers and am hoping you can help! From what I understand we have Ways to Give which redirects to Ways to Give/en, with Ways to Give/es and Ways to Give/it as language variant subpages, and Ways to Give/ru as a redirect to Способы пожертвований.

For all the other languages when you click on the "Other ways to give link" at the bottom of here as an example, you're taken to the English page Ways to Give/en. On the bottom of that Ways to Give page are links to other language versions, so to take Portuguese as an example, clicking on that link will take you to Coleta de fundos, which is an old fundraising page from 2008, not a page which gives information about the other ways to give. Please can we delete those old pages, unlink them from Ways to Give/en and start getting translations for the new page? Thehelpfulone 14:06, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Regarding this edit, can this image be switched to a locally uploaded image? Or perhaps even better an image from Commons or just an HTML/CSS button (images for text is kind of gross)? I don't really want users to be pulling images from Coinbase.com unless absolutely necessary. --MZMcBride (talk) 20:08, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Aah, you are of course right! I'd drafted this on a private wiki (thanks non-disclosure-agreements), and always meant to change it to a local file when we moved over here but somehow completely forgot. It's done now. (You should have seen the original proposal which involved loading inline JavaScript from the Coinbase server to render the button, I at least had the presence of mind to veto that.)
Top of my list for tomorrow/next week is sorting out translations of this section, so I expect to spend some time coming up with an HTMLy button which can cope with that. We would like to keep the current appearance if possible, it should be recognisable to those who already have used Coinbase. Pcoombe (WMF) (talk) 23:27, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks.
Regarding this edit, I think the FAQ entry was even stranger. You're probably right that this text is simply not needed. --MZMcBride (talk) 05:26, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it's not needed at all, it's just not needed on the Ways to Give page. We might remove it from the FAQ too at some point, if it stops being a frequently asked question, but for the moment it is thanks to the attention we've received.
