"Wikipedia works because there's this unspoken light inside all of us that comes from the desire to help educate, to help share knowledge." —Susan Hewitt, Wikipedia Editor

Who we are.

"We make information free, in every sense of the word. Every article, every picture, every piece of code -- everything that we produce -- is free."

"There’s something enticing about being able to work at a small organization that is working on a very gigantic website."

Wikipedia is a community built on shared respect for the power of knowledge to improve all of our lives, and for the power of open collaboration to create and share it. And as a community of authors, editors, photographers, programmers, and curators, we invite everyone to share and build upon our work.

A large portion of the staff were first part of the Wikipedia community and other Wikimedia projects. We weigh this kind of experience heavily.
