Who we are.

"Every article, every picture, every piece of code—everything that we produce—is free."
Read an interview on free collaboration with Ryan, here.

"There’s something enticing about being able to work at a small organization that is working on a gigantic website."

Wikipedia is a community of authors, editors, photographers, programmers, and curators who promote free knowledge and its ability to improve our lives. We value open collaboration and we invite everyone to share and build upon our work.

Much of the staff of the Foundation is from the Wikipedia community. We consider experience with the Wikimedia projects and with volunteer communities extremely valuable.
