Archive talk:Agreement between chapters and Wikimedia Foundation

From Wikimedia Foundation Governance Wiki

Given that not all chapters signed this agreement (some chapters did not sign it, and some chapters signed different version), the existence of this page is inappropriate and possibly illegal given that it states the existence of contractual relationships which are not the current accurate contractual relationship.

My suggestion is

  • either scrap that page and replace it with a standard message saying that there are contractual agreements between chapters and WMF
  • or provide agreements according to those signed (which will mean several variants of this page and will probably be a bit confusing)

I prefer option 1, and if so, we could upload agreements on meta and link this page to meta for details. But right now, the page as is is not acceptable.

Option 1 seems best to me, though this is probably worthy of wider discussion (on foundation-l or one of the chapters lists). --MZMcBride 20:32, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Florence, this is "your" page (you were the one who created it ;-)), so whatever you think would probably be best. I would assume that you just put it here as a quick reference for chapters, but we have internal for that now. Cbrown1023 talk 23:02, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I first added an introduction and then seen this talk: looks like we forgot to act on this issue. I've implemented option 1, but also option 2 by linking to both the history and m:Chapter Agreements as a source of some examples. --Nemo 12:03, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
