Thank You/Ganesh Paudel
When I have kids, I want them to know Nepal’s culture and our rich history, and to learn it in our own language — and Wikipedia is making that possible.
Without Wikipedia, who knows how many irreplaceable stories, songs, languages, myths, paintings and other pieces of culture would have been lost to future generations.
In Nepal, we have a particular understanding of keeping our story alive against the odds. And because this amazing resource exists, free for me and you and everyone else to use, I’m able to be a part of preserving something incredibly important to me — the heritage of my homeland.
In Nepal alone, there are versions of Wikipedia in development for eight local languages. But take a look around the world — Wikipedia supports people who are sharing knowledge with one another in nearly 300 different languages.
I’m convinced that Wikipedia is the best possible way to record and share local languages and the cultural fabric they represent. In fact, as far as I know, it’s the only place where this is even happening.
Your support for Wikipedia helps us achieve something beautiful... and vitally important.

Meet some of the editors of Wikipedia.
We would like to introduce you to some of the dedicated volunteers who you empower when you donate. It is our hope that after you read or hear a few of their stories, you'll want to join them in sharing your knowledge with the world by editing Wikipedia.
