About me
I joined the Wikimedia Foundation in the spring of 2013, after a visiting professor tenure in Internet law and Privacy at Cal Western School of Law. I have several years of legal experience as a litigator and public law counsel. I’ve also worked with Internet policy at EFF and as an academic fellow at Harvard Law School.
In addition to my work for Wikimedia, I research and write about Internet law as a Non-Resident Fellow with the Stanford Center for Internet & Society.
I love art, design, architecture, and travel. I’m trilingual in Swedish, Russian, and English and have lived in Russia, Sweden, Ireland, England, and various cities on both coasts of the U.S. before settling down in beautiful SF.
My work
I work on trademark and copyright strategy, mobile partnerships, and public policy at the Wikimedia Foundation.
My recent work includes building a global trademark portfolio for the Wikimedia logos and project names, relicensing the logos under CC BY-SA 3.0, and developing an open trademark policy to support collaboration through a community consultation and a workshop at Stanford design school to visualize the policy language. I also worked on an access to knowledge policy for mobile partnerships and collaborated with community members and advocacy groups in public policy initiatives on copyright and open access.
