MediaWiki is the software used by, written by, and maintained by the Wikimedia Foundation. As with all free software, the creation of the software was done by many people and it is continually updated by MediaWiki developers. MediaWiki software is liscensed under the GPL and is free, gratis and libre. See the MediaWiki.org website for up to date information on MediaWiki.
