These are the tentative future plans (also known as the roadmap) for the Wikimedia Foundation Memory Bank, an initiative by the Wikimedia Foundation Movement Communications team.
Please note that due to the Memory Bank still being in early development, these activities and timelines will likely change.
Early 2024 activities
- Begin testing models for interviews
- Develop and get approval on methodology for providing different levels of documentation (executive, internal, and external) on issues with confidentiality considerations
- Identify travel plans for 2024–2025
- Further develop on-wiki presence
- Launch wiki for historical assets
- Continue to expand advisory groups
- Finalize branding for the project
- Documentation on 2-3 historical topics
Late 2024 activities
- Interviews at events and via travel
- Begin external and internal publishment of documentation
- Begin department specific events
- Create external advisory group
- Finalize first draft of official timeline
- Finalize travel plans for 2025
- Begin processing requests from Communications department and Leadership team
- Continue efforts to document topics of historical significance to the Foundation
