About me

I started editing the English Wikipedia in June 2005. I became an administrator in 2006, and gained bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights in 2007. I served as a member of the Arbitration Committee in 2008.

My current activities on the English Wikipedia are primarily checkuser related. I am frequently found on the Sockpuppet Investigations pages there. However, I am also active in other areas, such as the Articles for Creation and Requests for Adminship processes.

In my day job, I am a PhD student in Systems Biology at the University of Manchester. As an undergraduate I studied for and was awarded a Bachelor's degree (with Honours) in Computer Science and Mathematics, also from the University of Manchester.

My work

I volunteer for the Wikimedia Foundation as a member of the Ombudsman Commission. Our role is to respond to complaints that are sent in about possible violations of the privacy policy. If you any have a complaint for the Ombudsman Commission, or have any questions, more information (including contact details) can be found on the Commission's page on Meta.

Disclaimer: I am not an employee of the Wikimedia Foundation. All views expressed by me are my own, and not those of the Ombudsman Commission or Wikimedia Foundation unless explicitly stated otherwise.
