About me
I joined the Wikimedia Foundation in June 2010 as part of the Public Policy Initiative team, and I now lead the communications efforts for the Wikipedia Education Program. My background is online advocacy and communications work for nonprofit organizations. I have a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and a master's degree in Communication, Culture, and Technology (I wrote papers on free culture, including Wikipedia!). I live with the cutest dog in the world, Nora, and I commemorate her cuteness by posting a photo of her every day to the Daily Nora.
My work
My role is to communicate the story of the Wikipedia Education Program. I work with staff members, chapter members, and volunteers who run programs to encourage university students to contribute to Wikipedia for course credit to publicize their efforts. I'm also responsible for development of new brochures and other resources that instructors, students, and Wikipedia Ambassadors use in their work. I also work with journalists, write blog posts, and organize the monthly Wikipedia Education Program Metrics and Activities Meeting.
