About me

I joined the Wikimedia Foundation in April 2015 as Legal Counsel.

Prior to working at Wikimedia, I worked at The New York Times Company as the First Amendment Fellow where I helped manage the Times' litigation including, libel, subpoena, and FOIA work and advised reporters on other matters. After law school, I clerked for J. Rosemary Pooler, United States Circuit Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and was previously a Harvard University Sheldon Knox fellow at Oxford University. Before pursuing the law, I was a journalist and graduated from Columbia Journalism School. Outside of WMF, I serve as pro bono counsel to Freedom of the Press Foundation and am a member of the Society of Professional Journalists.

In my free time, I hike and write and read about feminism.

My work

My role is to serve as a Legal Counsel with a focus on First Amendment issues. In particular, I will be helping with Wikimedia's trademark, copyright, public policy, and human resources issues, in addition to a wide array of other matters.
