edit this template Welcome to the Wikimedia Foundation website.

Thanks for being here! This wiki does not exactly follow the same rules as the other Wikimedia projects, since it is not open to all for editing, and in case of disagreement, the organ of decision will be the Board. A rule of thumb however is that if we gave you access, that means we trust you. So please, do not be shy in editing this site. There is ample work for everyone :-)

User page

I made a few minor tweaks to your user page just now. [[en:foo]] links in a subject-space namespace go into the sidebar, which probably isn't what you wanted. The use of a <table> also seemed unnecessary, so I killed it in favor of a <div>. --MZMcBride 19:24, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Work with us

Hi. Can you explain your reversions at Work with us? They seem to be purely disruptive. Are there issues with the new code? If so, could you explain what they are, please? Thanks. --MZMcBride 04:46, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

You should probably try talking to the people who develop the pages before you make changes to the code, so that they are at least aware of these things. But also: many things exist in code because of limitations (such as mobile devices, or other browsers) which you may think you fix, but you actually break. So it's usually best to talk and wait for a response before going in and goofing with code.--Jorm 05:12, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
You seem to completely confused about what a wiki is, but that's not really directly relevant here.
Which mobile browsers are having issues? What issues are you seeing? I just loaded the newer and older code on my phone (iPhone 3.1) and they look roughly identical.
What, exactly, is broken? --MZMcBride 05:15, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
Any further details on this? I do quite a bit of code work for Wikimedia wikis, for myself, and for work, so if there are certain practices that are causing problems on mobile devices, it'd be enormously helpful for everyone for me to know. --MZMcBride 11:16, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Without further input, I re-implemented my changes into the page. I tried to do so in a series of consecutive edits to make the diff(s) a bit easier to read. This resulted in a few intermediate changes briefly getting lost, but everything should be fine now. I looked at the mobile view in my desktop browser and it seems fine, but there may be mobile devices where this code doesn't look great. I imagine the old code also didn't look great on these devices either, though. The page really wasn't built with mobile in mind, I don't think.
As I said earlier, it seems fine on iOS. I don't have access to test other devices, but please let me know if there are issues with other platforms. Screenshots or line numbers are obviously the most helpful, but really anything more than "broken on mobile" should do. There's also a copy of (some version) of this code sitting at Wikimedia:Sandbox. Please feel free to test there! Cheers! --MZMcBride 00:43, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
