（フロリダ、セント・ピータースバーグ）ウィキメディア財団は顧問委員会 (Advisory Board) の設置を発表します。このたび新設される顧問委員会はさまざまな分野の第一人者によって構成され、長期的戦略などについて専門知識や助言をウィキペディアの運営母体に対して与えます。顧問委員会の委員長はアンジェラ・ビーズリーが務めます。ビーズリーはウィキメディア財団の前理事であり、ウィキアの共同設立者です。

フロランス・ドゥヴォアール・ウィキメディア財団理事長は次のように談話を発表しました。「このようなすばらしい方々をウィキメディアの一員として迎えられることはこの上ない幸運です。われわれは顧問委員会の方々の優れた能力と知識をえて、共同作業をしていきたいと考えています。」
