This proposal has been approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. This resolution was approved on December 9, 2020. |
Whereas, the Board of Trustees has instructed the Foundation to develop a Universal Code of Conduct to create a binding minimum set of standards across all Wikimedia projects and spaces; and
Whereas, the Board has reviewed the draft Universal Code of Conduct written by the joint volunteer-staff drafting committee, with extensive community feedback and outreach and with documentation of modifications in a publicly available change log;
Now, therefore, it is:
RESOLVED, that the Board approves and adopts the Universal Code of Conduct as an enforceable policy across all online and offline Wikimedia projects and spaces; and
RESOLVED, that the second phase of the Universal Code of Conduct implementation, outlining clear enforcement pathways, should be completed by the end of 2020-2021 fiscal year (July 2021).
