I'm a software engineer with an interest in distributed computing, and a passion for free software and culture.

I am a member of the Apache Cassandra Project Management Committee, and developer with the Debian Project.

I may or may not have had something to do with coining the term NoSQL.

When I'm not sitting behind a keyboard, I also like to bikeride and homebrew.

My work

I'm a member of the services team at the Wikimedia Foundation.
