| about me = I've been an editor on the Wikimedia projects since 2004 and have contributed over 50,000 edits (mostly on English Wikipedia and Commons). Besides editing Wikipedia, I like to study bugs and spiders and sometimes do volunteer work with the organization [http://nerdsfornature.org/ Nerds for Nature]. My other hobbies include mapping on [http://www.openstreetmap.org/ openstreetmap.org], reading books about science and history, hiking, and doing macro photography. I enjoy traveling to warm climates and can often be heard complaining about how cold it is in San Francisco. Despite the suboptimal climate, I do enjoy the food and culture of the Bay Area. |

| about my work = I've worked as a software engineer at the Wikimedia Foundation since 2010. I first worked as a developer for the fundraising team during the [[mw:2010 Fundraiser|2010]] and [[mw:2011 Wikimedia fundraiser|2011 fundraisers]], mostly working on [[mw:Extension:CentralNotice|CentralNotice]] and front-end components of [[mw:Extension:DonationInterface|DonationInterface]]. After that, I helped develop the [[mw:Extension:UploadWizard|UploadWizard]] and [[mw:Extension:WikiLove|WikiLove]] extensions. In 2012, I joined the Editor Engagement team and worked on [[mw:Extension:ArticleCreationWorkflow|ArticleCreationWorkflow]], [[mw:Extension:PageTriage|PageTriage]], and [[mw:Extension:Echo|Echo]] (the current Wikipedia notification system). Since 2013, I've worked on the [[mw:Mobile web/Team|Mobile Web team]]. I've also done a few random side projects like [[mw:Extension:Disambiguator|Disambiguator]], [[mw:Extension:CongressLookup|CongressLookup]], and the [[mw:Extension:Example|Example extension]]. |
