Pete Forsyth, Wikimedia's Public Outreach Officer, began writing for Wikipedia articles as a volunteer in 2006, focusing on the history of his home state of Oregon. He helped found [http://wikiprojectoregon.wordpress.com WikiProject Oregon], one of the strongest local associations of Wikipedians, which coordinates collaborative projects and establishes ties with local institutions. Prior to joining the Wikimedia Foundation's staff in 2009, Pete ran a consulting business, providing wiki and social media services for startup businesses, political campaigns, and non-profits. |
